Our Father, Francisco, and mother Teresa brought the family to this Country in December
1972. The family migrated to the United States from Jiquilpan, Michoacan,
Mexico.
As a migrant family, we came here looking for the opportunity to
fulfill our dream, and in that search we have found much
more potential in this Country, than could be imagined.
The family, after legally arriving in the United States of America, worked
in the agricultural fields of Los Angeles County, then went on to
the San Joaquin Valley (Stockton California). There, they then decided
to settle permanently in a country that easily offers
opportunity to the people, that work hard, learn hard and
understand the value of educational benefits, that no other country can offer.
Some of their children have moved on and set an
example for all of those who dreamed of reaching their goal, and some of
the family
have started a new dream in the Coachella Valley.
Within 10 years after their arrival, the family decided to pursue
employment opportunities in the Coachella Valley. Again, working hard
and saving their money, as best as they could, they decided to pursue
the opportunities in the food business.
"Our mother Teresa, received training in culinary arts and started working
for the Hyatt Hotel, and later, there was an opportunity to be employed
with the Esmeralda Resort. She made the decision to move to the
Esmeralda Resort,
before it was even open to the public. That was over 19 years ago."
So, knowing that this was the land of opportunity for hard working
people with special knowledge, the combined family decided to establish
a special restaurant that all of the family could contribute with their
proven ideas, under the leadership of Teresa.

family was formed by the mother, five brothers, one sister and her husband.
Teresa has kept the original family recipes, while establishing her
own newer recipes, making sure that proven traditions were maintained.
Little did they know that it would be more difficult than
anticipated. But, when you are Americans, anything is possible.
So, certain members of the family acquired loans, took from their
savings and in concert, founded a great location. Even though the
mall location
was brand new, and many at the time were empty shops, today it is
getting to be one of
the premier locations in the valley.
One of the reasons for excellent growth of the business, other than
great food and atmosphere, is that members of the family have created an
excellent "following" from their jobs in the food service industry throughout
the valley. Thanks to them, the business has continued to grow.
So, please come and enjoy the flavors of the wonderful state of Michoacan,
as well as many other family flavors created for this beautiful valley.
