The Desert Sun- Palm Springs
Special to The Indio Sun
For Teresa Lua and her family, Soul of Mexico reflects more than a Michoacan heritage.
It represents all of Mexico's culinary regions, as well as the artistic inspiration each family member brought to creating the look and feel of the charming "village" atmosphere.
From colorfully painted walls and arched walls decorated with clay Incan to a brick-layered bar and blackened ceiling, Soul of Mexico offers a whimsical environment.
"Everyone had a part in decorating the restaurant," Lua said. "The masks came from estates in Mexico. All the decorations came from Mexico."
The restaurant has attracted a strong local following from nearby neighborhoods and country clubs such as PGA West and The Traditions, Lua said.
